Tuesday Night Music Club

Dear Friends,

This is heartbreaking to write but…

After much consideration (and having had our hand forced by the governments recommendations today that everyone avoid Pubs, Clubs and Restaurants which has triggered a flood of ticket cancellation and refund requests) we will be bringing the shutters down on The Tuesday Night Music Club for the foreseeable future.

I wanted to stay open for as long as we could so that we could at least give musicians somewhere to play, give you an entertaining night out and continue to introduce you to some of the wonderful music that is around.   I was prepared to continue to foot the bill even if our audience numbers fell.   However for the sake of everyone’s well being and, possibly, my sanity I think this is the only thing we can do at the moment.

This means that tomorrows (17th) show that we were trying to hold onto with our fingernails is now cancelled.   It also, of course, means that next weeks sold out show on 24th with Northsyde is cancelled, as is John Verity’s show on 31st March.   All these will be rescheduled but, as you might be able to imagine, the diary is now in absolute chaos and we can’t give you any firm dates as yet.   I’ll be looking at April’s shows over the next few days so do bear with me on those and all those afterwards.

For those of you who have tickets for future shows - refunds can of course be obtained.   If you purchased on line through Ents 24 they will be automatically actioned.   If you purchased your tickets at Comrades please, please don’t go dashing down there demanding a refund.   We’re presently working out how to issue them and I’ll advise you the minute we have this in place.   If, of course, you want to hold on to your tickets to use for a rescheduled show we’ll also work out how we can process that!   In either event I’ll be in touch again as soon as we have a procedure in place - with some 25 shows already on sale this is quite a complex exercise!

The Tuesday Night Music Club will be back and it will be bigger and better.   But while we’re away think of all the musicians, the sound engineers, the promoters, the venue owners and all the ancillary staff that at this moment are staring down the barrel of a gun with their livelihoods in tatters.   They all need your help - please do reach out to them if you can.

My thanks for all your messages of support and understanding in these difficult times.   Please do take care of yourselves and here’s hoping we will see you soon!

All the best

Richard
