Membership
The
Club has a vibrant membership enjoying the comforts
of a well appointed bar and lounge area with a stage
and dance floor. A large screen is available for
viewing big events and two television sets are
conveniently placed for those who want to watch
different programs. Satellite TV is available on all
three screens. A dart board is available on request
provided its use does not interfere with other
events and four full sized snooker tables are
available on the first floor - players have to pay
for the table lighting.
The
stage and dance floor area can be separated from the
main lounge providing an area with a small bar
for private functions or meeting space, as used by the
local book club which is independent from the club.
Membership
is by annual subscription due on 1st January every
year (and must be renewed before the 1st February of
that year) which entitles the member free admission
[unless the committee has levied a fee for a
particular event] at all times and social events,
including the Saturday night entertainment.
Members
Guests are very welcome but must be signed in for a
small fee of £2.00 per session and £5.00 on Saturday
nights. Though only members are allowed to
make purchases from the bar.
Prospective
new members are usually proposed and seconder by a
current member and after completion and submission of
an application form are asked to go before the
committee.
However
if you are interested in joining the Club but do not
know a member then please download and complete the application
form and it post to The Secretary, The
Comrades Club, 194 Brighton Road, Coulsdon, Surrey,
CR5 2NF for consideration.
The
Club also has an Associate Membership which is
currently unavailable due to over subscription.
Associate members have the same access to the clubs
facilities but have no voting rights and are not
permitted to sign in guests and is usually taken by
the spouse, or partner, of a full member who wishes to
use the clubs facilities on separate occasions.
